K-8 Teacher

I have been working at Indian Diggings since 1990. This is the greatest school! Hope you have a great year! My interest in one and two room schools started when I subbed at Silverfork School in 1977. Later I completed a Master's Thesis on the remaining schools in California that had 1, 2, 3, or 4 rooms. I served as a teacher in large schools for 6 years. I have served as a site administrator in larger schools for about 10 years.   I have been a teaching/administrator for about 18 years of my 34 years in public education. It has been the most rewarding part of my career. My second passion in my career has been Outdoor Education. I have worked four of the last five summers for the US Forest Service as an Archaeology Technician and one summer for EID as a Boat Patrolman on Sly Park Lake. My wife is a teacher in Pioneer School District and all three of my adult daughters live locally.

I moved to the community and got involved at the school. My children attend Indian Diggings and our whole family is deeply involved. I love kids!

My son attended Indian Diggings in 2001-2002. I continued to work in the Bay Area. My husband and I still live in Omo Ranch. An opportunity for me to use my skills and desires came last year and I am pleased to be using them at Indian Diggings School.

My brother and I attended Indian Diggings School during our childhoods. Many years later, I have returned to the community and my children attend the school. I began working at the school last year as a volunteer. This year, I began working here. I love working and being part of the school.

My two sons attended Indian Diggings School from Kindergarten through 8th Grade. They both graduated from high school and are making their own lives now.  Our family feels a special connection to Indian Diggings School. We see the school as the center of the community.
